In order to provide funding for our terrific programs, the PTO must also generate some income. Fundraising programs are designed to provide quality products and worthwhile services to our students and families, as well as to raise money for various projects. As you juggle a busy schedule at work or at home, in the midst of soccer games, scouting events, fundraisers and homework, are you looking for a break to spend some quality time with your family? If so, start checking here for information from the Family Activities committee. We have been busy planning activities for almost every month to ensure a fun-filled school year for Granby students and their families. These events are not PTO fundraisers; they are coordinated as a service by Granby PTO to promote family fun time for Granby students outside of school. Although many people think of the PTO as a fundraising operation, this is only a very small part of what the PTO does. In fact, the only reason we raise money is to fund the programs and services we provide throughout the school year. Programs include special performances by professional artists several times during the school year, all arranged for and funded by PTO's Cultural Arts Committee. We help fund other extra programs as well, including the Hi Touch/Hi Tech program, the sixth grade Nature's Classroom Trip, the pond studies program, and the annual Nutmeg/Acorn Ice Cream Social celebration at each school. In 2010 the Granby Public School system went "green". These means all correspondence must be sent electronically and information is placed on websites for access by the parents of Granby school children.
