Granby PTO Organization/Membership

Who is the Granby PTO?

The PTO is an organization open to all caregivers and teachers in the three Elementary schools in Granby. We sponsor and fund many extras for the schools, including musical assemblies, a sixth grade picnic, extra books for the library reading programs, the student directory and purchases of equipment. The most recent acquisitions being, a high-tech telescope for Kelly Lane and Wells Road and fans for all classrooms in the 3 schools. We also provide many enrichment programs and services, including Cultural Arts, Exploring Arts, Vision Screening, School Pictures and a very active Family Activities Committee. Last year these committees sponsored many events – guest authors and special presentations, art projects, events at the XL center, family movies and a year end picnic to name but a few. Below are a list of commonly asked questions regarding the PTO and its paperless communications. If you have further questions not answered below, feel free to contact us.

How does one become a member of the PTO?

To quote our by-laws:
"General Members shall be:

Voting members shall be any general member who may be present and vote on motions, serve on committees and otherwise fully participate in activities of the PTO."

So what does this mean? As a parent, guardian, teacher, administrator and support staff of students in the Granby Elementary Schools, you are automatically a member of the Granby Elementary PTO, with voting privileges. Your input and ideas are valued. Your opinion counts. With this, I encourage you to get involved. There are many opportunities to help out and be active, even if you do not have a lot of time. We appreciate your participation and involvement at any level.
