About the Granby PTO

The Granby PTO is organized for the charitable and educational purposes of supporting the education of children at school by fostering relationships between the school, parents, caregivers and teachers. View the PTO Bylaws

ART PROJECT:
Art Project coordinates the production, sale and distribution of student artwork for a special spring fundraiser.

BEAR CALLS:
Bear Calls is a student directory consisting of the K-6 student body listed both alphabetically and by class. The Bear Calls directory is done as a service from your PTO and all proceeds go directly to support PTO programs and activities. Committee members issue registration and parental consent forms, and all aspects of selling, producing, editing, printing and distributing the student directory.

BOOK FAIR:
Book Fair assists in sales and distribution of books at annual book fairs.

Volunteer

COMMUNITY INFO:
Community Info provides parents and teachers an exchange of relevant, factual information by attending relevant community meetings, including the Board of Education and Board of Finance.

CLOTHING:
This committee manages the ordering, selling and disbursement of "Granby" clothing. All clothing is 100% cotton in our signature Granby maroon and gold colors. Clothing can be ordered by mailing in a form accessible on the website or can be bought directly at a stand that volunteers arrange at events throughout the year.

CULTURAL ARTS:
Cultural Arts schedules and supervises programs of cultural value during school hours several times a year.

DRUMMER ARTICLES

ENHANCED LEARNING FUND (ELF):
Funds designated by the Board each year shall be awarded for educational enhancement projects which concur with the guidelines established for ELF.

EXPLORING ARTS:
Exploring Arts coordinates and trains volunteers who will lead classroom discussions for the children on the works of famous artists several times a year. Exploring Arts is a PTO funded program that shares knowledge on a variety of topics dealing with Art. For more than 25 years, Granby parent volunteers have coordinated with teachers' curriculum to enhance learning. It is our goal to have a volunteer come into your child's classroom to present an Artist, a period in Art History, or a topic/style of art.

6th Grade Picnic provides an end-of-the year picnic for 6th graders.

Kaleidoscope regularly publishes a PTO newsletter to keep parents informed of the PTO's activities.
